Brickellia californica, commonly known as California Brickellbush, is a versatile, drought-tolerant shrub native to Northern Mexico and the western United States. It adapts to a variety of environments, including forests, woodlands, deserts, grasslands, and chaparral, thriving at elevations up to 2,700 meters (8,900 ft). This shrub grows 2–78 inches tall, featuring fuzzy, triangular leaves with serrated edges that range from 1–6 cm in length. From late summer to fall, it blooms with clusters of tubular flowers that vary from white to pink, framed by purplish-green bracts, making it a favorite among pollinators.
