Ceanothus thyrsiflorus var. griseus, commonly known as Carmel Creeper, is a variety of the Ceanothus thyrsiflorus species. It is a low-growing, evergreen shrub native to California. Carmel Creeper features small, glossy, dark green leaves and produces clusters of small, sky-blue flowers in late spring to early summer, adding a burst of color to the landscape.

As a creeper or groundcover plant, it has a spreading growth habit, making it an excellent choice for erosion control on slopes or for providing coverage in garden beds. Its dense growth and adaptability to various soil types and sun exposures make it suitable for Mediterranean-style gardens or native plant landscapes.

Carmel Creeper is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance, making it a practical and visually appealing option for water-wise and low-maintenance landscapes. It attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies, contributing to biodiversity and promoting a wildlife-friendly environment.
