It belongs to the Scrophulariaceae family and is characterized by its erect stems, reaching heights of up to 3 feet, and serrated, lance-shaped leaves. The plant produces clusters of small, tubular flowers with greenish-brown to purplish hues, arranged in dense, terminal spikes. California Bee Plant blooms from late spring to early summer, attracting pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds with its nectar-rich flowers.
